OK, I have been a happy user of dvd2avi 1.76 for a long time (the one in gordian knot). Now I encounter a problem that happens all the time with one particular vob-clip.

It is a clip included on the second dvd of "The League Of Gentlemen Series 2". I also tried with dvd2avi version 1.77.3, same problem. As soon as I want to save the project, it just crashes with the well-known "send error report" screen of winXP.

The clip is the one with the filming at the carnival-scene and some other scenes. It has been ripped with dvd decypter (latest version).

UPDATE: I tried it on a different computer where I ripped it with vstrip, same problem...

Is there an alternative to dvd2avi?

What Processor do you have?

Make sure you selected an appropriate iDTC algorithm for your CPU.

In my P4 machine the 64bit SSE2 MMX algorithm crashes D2A whenever i preview or move the slider, so I never preview or move the slider, I just save the project and it works fine with mpeg2dec2 into AVIsynth.

Hope that helps, :J

P.S. I would suggest not to use 1.77.3 since it's incompatible with mpeg2dec or tmpegenc or...
