How to change ffdshow codec without uninstall?

I have installed ffdshow(20021213), so it decodeced every divx3/4/5 file for playback.Can I get back to use the original codec(i.e:divx 4)to play the divx4 file?

Because when my ffdshowcodec playback a divx4 file([Michael Jackson]-History(DVDrip).avi,512*384)with Mediaplayer6.4,it can't work well in fullscreen mode.The image turns rough, while in original solution it was OK.

I try zoomplayer3.00 with ffdshow and it's OK in fullscreen, as well as the mediaplayer with divx5.02 codec.But I just want anyone to tell me why, or what settings I should adjust in ffdshow.

FFDshow should of installed a configuration link in the start menu. If not just run this command line..
rundll32.exe ffdshow.ax,configure

or when you are playing a file go to Filter properties in zoomplayer or wmp64 and you will be able to change what files it loads for.

in the ffdshow configuration menu (told how to access in the first reply), uncheck the DivX4 box. the native DivX4 decoder will then be used in place of ffdshow to decode the audio.

As you said, the decodec has changed to--en...DIVX5.02?

A little disappointing because in Divx4.11 I can adjust the brightness and contrast but divx5.02 can not.Maybe I should wait for Next divx version to add it.:( As Economics says, monopoly does less efficiency and satisfaction.

Here is some adding.

I did have installed both divx4 and divx5.02.
But it seems divx5.02 plays all divx4/5 automatically.No matter which was installed first.

yes because the divx5 filter registers for the Divx4 files and it has a higher preference in DirectShow. (I don't know what all DirectShow looks for to determine the order of preference for it to use) So it uses that instead of Divx4 filter. Also i belive they have the same name so you can't install the filters in parrell exect with some hacks people have done in the Divx5 forum that will let you install them together.

Yes, you can! Under Quality Settings is all you need. It gets disabled though, when you check a certain checkbox on that page, but can't remember which.
