Moulin Rouge DVD not recognised

Hello

Any help on this one would be greatly appreciated. I am a bit of a newbie, so its probably something embarrassingly basic.

I have been following the DVD -> DVD-5 guide, and have got to the end of it. I've burned it to a DVDRW using Nero, and this has gone fine.

Unfortunately, when I try to play the DVD on the computer though, the software (Cyberlink PowerDVD) says 'A disc with an unsupported format in drive D:'. However, the Cyberlink software allows you to create a playlist, which allows me to watch the film off the DVD.

Any ideas on what would cause this?

This is probably a daft question, but would the fact that the first VOB file is called VTS_02_1.VOB?

2 questions...

1) Did you preview and test your movie before burning? I always DVDPlay it as to make sure that I don't make a another coaster.

2) How did you burn in Nero?

1) I did preview it before I burnt it. Still being a novice I burnt it onto a DVDRW to check it again.

2) I had it set to 'No multisession', DVD Video, and then copied the files into the VIDEO_TS directory. This is same approach as I used for High Fidelity, and that worked fine.

I was going through my Nero 5.5.9.17 and I couldn't find anything exactly like "No multisession". What version of Nero do you have?

Update: I see it now. You obviously didn't use DVD-Video as only DVD-ROM(ISO)and DVD-ROM(UDF/ISO) have that option.

I'm using Nero v5.5.10.0.

I know this sounds stupid, but I'm setting the no session bit when the window opens (as this is the default tab). I'm then changing to DVD Video (which probably means that the no session bit is redundant).

First of all, refrain from using Nero 5.5.10.0. This version has be found to have bigger bugs than than it's previous one. The previous version is 5.5.9.17, which is stabler, and I use that alot. If 5.5.17.9 gave me reallocation errors, I usually used ImgTools with reallocation unchecked but you gotta have 5.5.8.0 to 5.5.9.17 present as 5.5.10.0 gave ImgTools problems too.

I haven't had the chance to do this method yet, but recently DMagic1 has come up with a solution for Nero's reallocation errors. Read this Sticky thread. http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=33120

In Nero, I choose DVD-Video (don't use wizard). All I do is select DVD-Video, enter a volume label, and press write. This works for my standalone and that's good for me.
