how to ditch standard and keep widescreen?

hey all, the CQ dvd is only 88 minutes long. The disc is DVD-9 because it includes widescreen and standard format. My question is how do i get rid of the standard size format and keep the widescreen one? When i view VTS_07_0.VOB it's the standard size stream. Can i simply remove the VTS_07_X.VOB and VTS_07_0.IFO and BUP files from the VIDEO_TS folder and burn to DVD? Or do i need to do some IFoedit operation?
This is the first time i've tried burning a dvd movie so please bear with me.

More than likely a DVD that contains both fullscreen and widescreen will also have an aspect ratio option screen. You can delete your titleset 7 and get VTS Sectors. It will work. But if you do, you would have a problem with the aspect ratio screen. If you chose fullscreen, your movie would error-out as it is looking for titleset 7.

You would have to IFOedit that unless you can live with the fact that you always know it's WIDESCREEN and you always select WIDESCREEN. Most people opt to correct that as it bugs the hell out of them.

Of course, if you do movie-only then you don't have to worry about editing the menu.

well i removed the standard format VTS from the burn and it plays fine on my PC and on OS X in my Powerbook. That's all i wanted. I doubt the disc would play on a standalone DVD player, but that's no big deal. The widescreen or standard selection screen is something i can deal with. thanks for the reply.
