View Full Version : Give the downloads section a facelift!

I think the Downloads page should be a bit more organized, as well as more thorough. There are so many filters/programs throughout the forums that should be on there, as it's hard to keep up with updates and such if one is away for a while (2 weeks or so). Multiple pages, etc. would be very nice. I'm aware that this is simply a hobby for most of us and we don't have unlimited time to do such things on demand. So not a complaint here, just an annoyance I have.

multiple pages: people can't even manage to handle 2 pages... how can you expect them to handle even more than that?
As for the numbers of programs.. I specifically want the size to be small.. If you want all the programs you can go to divx-digest.com, if you want just the good programs my download section is the way to go. And as for filters.. I know a lot of people love to have a shitload of filters.. I don't. I think you should keep the video as close to the original as possible. As for programs.. give me a for instance? What really great program is missing?

I totally agree with Doom9 here... :)
From my point of view one single page would even be better (since the link to the "full software page" is not found by everyone...).
and if people use "STRG-F" on the short download page, they don't find the tool and complain that it's not on the site...
Doom9 does this manually, so more pages = more (useless) work.
What I would suggest is to put the links to the tools directly on the download page!
example: Avisynth [Link (http://www.avisynth.org)]
that would make sense IMO (of course only for those tools that actually HAVE an own and updated homepage)
