I've tried several times to create an .avi from a commercial dvd that I have. I'm using GKnot 0.27. I tried "just mux" and I tried converting the audio to mp3 so I don't think the audio is the problem.

The movie is Rat Race. It's 112 minutes 7 seconds and has 161290 frames. The final .avi only has about 8000 frames. The whole movie seems to be there (with big jumps in it), but it's only about 5 minutes long and the audio isn't synched at all. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks.

you said "161290 frames". try seeing if gknot shows that many frames before encoding.

Hi-

I think you encoded using the compress test .avs. Have a look at the .avs and see if it has the line SelectRangeEvery(280,14) (without the "#" in front) down near the bottom. If so, remove it and try again.

Looks like it was the one for the compressibility test. I didn't see anything the guide about having to delete any files after the test. What's the normal way you should handle this?

Thanks for the help.
