PLEASE HELP!!!Using CCE-----> I was wondering if setting the Q factor lower...say (30) increases the overall size of the new.m2v, I have read alot of stuff in my five day wait:) and I can get around all the programs now, but im still a little confused because the guide(Getting the best out of CCE) suggests 60 but I also read on here that 40 was the way to go.....what Im looking for is a good video quality as small as possible

By the way...Im working with MINORITY REPORT.......

Another question I have is when I use bitrate viewer it says that my my pic structure is frame("getting the best out of CCE" says that if my pic structure = frame then the content is frame base rather than field base and that it can be verified by DCT type= Frame, and that I should check Progressive frames in CCE's video settings......but my movie (Minority Report) shows Pic structure=frame,DCT=field....so should I still check the box for Progressive Frame??? Is my movie Progressive or Interlaced???

Thank Everyone and anyone who responds to my post...this is the first time I have posted on this site!!!!!!!

Well its like this... At first I used what the guide said - Q=60... but after some use i found out that for what you want the best values are in fact between 30 and 40.
About the other thing, i to at first bumped into that litle problem in the CCE guide , but came to find out this:

The only things that you need to see are the folowing:

Field Top FIrst : Yes or No
Quantiscale : Linear or Nonlinear
Scan Type: Alterning or Zigzag
Frame Type: Interlaced or Progressive

Hope this help. Buy

You should run the 2nd vob file NOT the first to see whether you should use progressive or interlaced.

Sometimes the movie starts out with a mix of interlaced and progressive. For example in some movies i have encoded, the movies starts out with the creidts rollign. Before the frist credit screen comes out (made by etc. for example), it is interlaced, but when the credit comes out, it becomes progressive, and when it goes away and turns into a blank screen it becomes interlaced...

If you run the 2nd vob file of your movie you'll be able to tell for sure if the movie is interlaced or progressive b/c you won't encounter this problem. HOpe that helps.
