DVD -> DivX or DVD -> SVCD?

DVD to DivX will give you mos. def a higher quality copy and save you the space DVD to SVCD will typically take at least two CDs but you are able to play it on a standalone DVD player. It all really depends on what bitrate you use for what. DivX (and XviD etc.) will give you a better quality at the same bitrate of SVCD.

Is it wise to convert DVD to DivX on 1 cd with the AC3 5.1 sound?
