Hi all,

Can anyone help me out with a conversion problem I have ? I have a SVCD movie that I want to convert to DVD. I have all the tools needed, I assumed anyway, but for some reason the audio is fine and in-sync when playing the video back in a player, but it is out of sync when I try to convert it. I tried to strip the audio out and then join them up using Vegas Video 3, but even the extracted WAV audio is also out of sync to the length of the video. The audio seems to be many more minutes the video, but I can't understand why it plays fine and in-sync in normal players.

Software I have tried is Vegas Video 3, TMPG Encoder, Virtual Dub.

Some people ask for the Virtual Dub error message, so the message I get is "MPEG Import Filter: pack synchronization error".

Can anyone help or anything ? Thanks.

Jon

You get that error because you cant directly import Mpeg 2 into Virtual Dub the only way is to frame serve it from another prog. Your audio is out of sync because the audio on a SVCD is 44.1Khz and the audio on a DVD is 48K You need to read the guide on doom9. It tells you how to convert and get it in sync.
