I have been encoding my dvd using cce 2.50 and for a while everything was going well. But at one time, when i went to see the movie after CCE I found out that I had, beside the usual black lines on top and botton that the DVD 16x9 usually have, another two black lines inside the film area that reduces a lot the viewble film area.
Since then every film that I make has this problem. Can anyone help me PLEASE!!!!

check your settings in dvd2avi , also check the original dvd aspect ratio as this might actually be what its meant to do , I sometimes get 16:9 dvd's behave slightly diffrently but when I check the main movie original it plays the same :)

Does your .AVS script play the way you want it using WMP? Why don't you attach a picture so we can understand what you are talking about.

Just to say that i´ve solved the problem... Here´s the answer:
In DVD2Avi on the YUV - RGB bar I was using TV Scale insted of PC Scale.
Tks to you all for your time.

I take it you were backing up minority report, I got the same result , no big deal , 16:9 ratio button on my tv remote fixes it:cool:

After you have demuxed and created your AVI (frameserving) when you open the AVI in media player does it have the extra line, its just I had it with a 16x9 film that said it was progressive but was actually linear (Ie click forced film)

working with minority report----
says it is progressive when I use birtate viewer on the origional vob...should I still use forceframe in dvd2avi since I still have to use pulldown after cce?
by the way-I did not set it on force film but I do not know the result cause im still running my second pass in cce.

I did Minorty report not long ago seemd to have no problems with it, but I only do one pass with CCE, use a program I found on the forums here which calculates the settings for you,
anyway in DVD2AVI I use the following settings
Color (or colour from where I live) to YUV
Filed op to none unless intrelaced then I use force film
YUV-RGB to PC scale
select track and tick demux dolby dig
then I use VFAPI
Then in CCE (using 2.5.1.0)
I set to ES
untick Audio
One Pass VBR
Q 60
bit rates vary
tick add seq end code
and dvd compliant
I get the other settings from bitrate viewer
I never tick Zigzag scan it doesnt seem to work
set to 16 to 235
and tick auto Intra DC
Set the aspect to 16x9 or 4x3 DAR depending on film
I set GOP m to 3 N/M to 4
seq every 1
set Image Q to 5
untick anti noise filter
Then import chapter list
click encode, it does 1.5 realtime (XP2200)
Import assestes to Maestro changing the project settings and never had a problem with that method (even on minority report R1 NTSC)
Hope this helps
