I have TMPGEnc 2.55 with full MPEG-1 and -2 capability and have to tried to create DVDs from AVI files. I can convert the AVI successfully to MPEG-2, but the problem arises after that - I have Nero that will then burn the MPEG-2 to DVD, but it won't deal with files bigger than 2Gb, is there a way in TMPGEnc to limit file sizes to 1Gb and then burn them across as straight VOBs ?

You have to author the video files first, Nero won't do this for you unless you have purchased the encoder plug-ins and have downloaded NeroVision Express. But seeing as TMPGEnc's encoder is better than Nero's, I suggest you download IfoEdit from http://www.ifoedit.com and author you video files with that first before using Nero (there is a guide on this site on how to author a DVD with IfoEdit). No matter how big the file TMPGEnc produces, IfoEdit will create 1GB sized VOB files for you ready to burn with Nero.
