I was trying to backup a movie using dvd decrypter and it kept erroring out. I switched to smartripper. After playing the movie I started using smartripper to copy the files. On one of the vob's it ran extremely slow and showed a broken block. Fortunately it was not one that I needed but I was curious what the broken block means?
