Can one turn of the testclips for encoding video

Ok i just wondered if i can turn off the testclips sequel the program makes during the encoding phase,
it would speed up things a little.

and how come that depending on which movie is being encoded the number of testclips increases?

I only saw DVD2SVCD doing testclips when you choose CQ. (of mabe it does that when going by the wizzard? Don't know. Never used the wizzard). If that't what you mean, it does that to determine the quality it will use to encode your movie, so it'll fit on the # of disks you selected.
There's no way to disable that.

Yeah, if you are using DVD2SVCD and CQ value, it'll make several 2000 frame test clips. This is important, because it'll give an estimate on the quality value it'll use so it'll encode around the size you want. This method is FASTER than 2-pass VBR, so the only way to actually speed up the process, is to use fixed cq value and set the number you want or use CBR.

But the number of testclips differ per movie, so there's no way to set a standard total for the testclipping cycle.
