VCD underflows

Hi guys, I'm creating a VCD using 2266kbps Video/256kbps Audio & when muxing get underflows(???) which cause jerky playback on my PC & no playback on my DVD standalone. So my qestion is what is the the best solution to this problem?

Try using BBmpeg, on the program stream settings tab, set the force mux rate to 0 (automatic). This works for SVCDS, but I don't make VCDs so I can't confirm it works (although there is a preset for VCDS).

in BBmpeg check the option "align sequence head". Thus you can ensure that on PC it will be played bach smoothly. Check www.vcdhep.com(DVD Player session) to see if you dvd player also XVCD compliant(at least for such high bitrate). Good luck!

Didn't work, nor force mux rate to 0 I tried that before (I try to not waste people's time & use the search function :).

I assume the "didn't work" in your post meens the muxing proccess worked(!!!) perfectly(!!!) but the playback still jerky. If not so plz report again. (because it was not crystal-clear in your post)

1. Playback in dvd player: you have not reported the resaults of your visit of www.vcdhelp.com
2. Playback on PC: there are never "underflows" nor "jerky" if you use the default settings of VCD in BBmpeg and with following change:
check the "VBR", calculted bitrate "Use Max", mux bitrate "0", check "align sequence head".
Some times your OS/DirectShow system is defect so try it on a fresh installed Windows and WinDVD/PDVD 4.0. (WinDVD 4.5 is very buggy)

1. I use DVD2SVCD to auto mux with BBmpeg
2. My PC gives VERY jerky playback of the encoded, CBR, VCD (not SVCD)
3. My Toshiba SD1300Y gives no picture (reported to play 3500/384kbps XVCD)

You MUST start the bbmpeg manual and use the setting above to overcome your problem - nothing else.
The "automatic" muxing settings are only for regular vcds.
