Recover: SVCD Authoring finished but no bin/bue files

Hi!

I created a SVCD, but it aborted due to less space on target file system. Before recovering from "muxing and cutting" i changed the target folder for muxing and authoring.

After an error "not finding intra..." DVD2SVCD finished muxing pretending SVCD image creating has also been finished, but there are no .bin/.cue files!

What is the indicator that signals DVD2SVCD the image creating has succedded. Should'n there be an explicit check if the files are really there and not only checking internal status flags?

How can i initiate the SVCD authoring again (I tried multiple recoring from SVCD authoring, but always no success)?

Perhaps the problem is, that no .xml files have been generated. When does this happen, and how am i able to do this manually?

Ok, i got it!

I freed some space on original drive G:, reset paths for muxing and imaging to drive G:, removed the created .mpg files and recovered from "muxing and cutting", and now it works. Perhaps DVD2SVCD didn't find some files for creating the .xml files when redirecting the output path for muxing and cutting and imaging to drive E:.

Is it possible to do the whole process until muxing on one drive, the muxing process to another drive (not partition even another harddisk to optimize the muxing process due to I/O actions) and imaging to the prior drive. So the whole process works on 2 HDs, and the HD intense processes work each on 2 drives. I think actually this must be done before the whole process is started to work properly.

Perhaps DVD2SVCD could check the scripting procedure, so that someone running out of disk space during the muxing oder imaging process is able to redirect the output path to another drive and to be able to recover from the failed task (in case he is unable to free space on the original disk to just recover normally).

Yes, your problem was that you changed the directory and recovered the process. This is not recommended because some files are saved to the directory before the steps are even started.
Nothing should be changed while dvd2svcd is in the middle of an encode. You're just asking for trouble.
