Having created my complete film, (transcoding with cce the m2v file) and incoporating with the use of ifoupdate, using scenarist to make all the pgc's perfectly.
Once fully authored the VIDEO_TS folder plays fine in powerdvd and ifoedit (play)but when I burn to a dvdr and play on a standalone player, you have to physically press play on the dvd remote after the initial warning splash screen has auto-played.
The title I have tried this on was What Lies Beneath.
Can anyone shed some light on why with titles created with scenarist I have to manually press play, but if I authoured this using Maestro and then rebuild with ifoupdate, it works all ok???
Any help would be grand....cheers,

Is your warning splash screen in the same PGC as your movie? Just wondering what is supposed to come after the splash.... If it's in the same PGC, is it listed first (as NSM) and then your movie (as SM)? Would it help to put a link in the cell or PGC of the splash to the movie?

Have you tried loading up all the ifos associated witht he project in ifoedit and clicking the Get VTS Sectors button before burning?

bbwolf, sorry for taking so long to reply, but have been trying to do this for a while now (what with normal work too!!!)
I have performed 'get vts sectors' on ALL .ifos to no avail.
I have recently just tried it on another title (bttf) and with scenarist (following trilights' uber guide) i can create the vob sets, and the ifo's look exactly like the originals. But, again on the pc the film starts up all ok, but on standalone (only with scenarist mind you!) you have to press play to get it to kick in. At this point however, the main movie kicks in and NOT the menu....pressing the menu button brings up the menu.
PLEASE HELPPPPP!!!!!

I had the same problem with a couple of movies. Sometimes I managed to fix this by editing the video_ts.ifo. Go to first play pgc (VTSI_MAT I think) and then to the last command you see. Change this command to jump to the menu of the main movie vts set.
Good Luck

influenza....is it this file?
in the VMGM_MAT section of VIDEO_TS.IFO
there is this line.....
[00000084] First Play PGC (FP_PGC) 1024 [00000400]
which looks exactly the same as a title I have done with maestro and autoplays all ok????
Any more advice, would be greatly appreciated...
cheers,

p.s. this info was not at the bottom of the VMGM_MAT table, but in the middle, so maybe I am in the wrong place?
