I backed up xXx. I used ifoedit to strip the extra audio/menus/subtitles but left the 5.1 and 2ch audio. Is this ok even if i dont have a menu to select which sound i want?

Most (all?) standalone players have an "audio" button on the remote. With it you can just switch between the streams.

You should remove the user prohibited operations first. Otherwise you might not be able to change the audio track during the movie

DVDDecrypter does that automatically while ripping.

At leat I think so. ;)

what if you want to keep only the 2ch sound to save space, and get rip of the 6ch. I tried doing it with the Matrix but there was no audio at all???

Afaik there are some players which refuse if there's no audio on 0x80. Try to map the audio from 0x8x to 0x80.

What is the point of having a dvd if you rip the 6 channel sound????

Because there are people out there that have their DVD player just plugged straight to TV or R/F convertor.

The point is to save the @200mb, The 6ch is about 300 mb,
It can be the difference between 1 disk or 2.
