Hi,

help request. I am currently trying to completely rebuild Matrix R2 (PAL). And I stuck with the VobID + Cell recreation. I did not find a fast and reliable way to rebuild this yet. I got an idea howto rebuild the cells (scenes) in the individual VobIDs (tracks) in Scenarist but I am having some trouble...

1'st I found a 'bug' in ScenCap ver. 1.27, sorry I know this is a bad start, but that's what it is ... pls see the log and ignore the blue and green block for a moment, pls. see the red line:
PGC 1, 38 Chapters, 116 Cells, Playtime 02:10:46;10/25

Cell 101 (37/1) Chap 0, Type 14, Angle 0, Start 0

A kind of overflow, although the titleset 2 (VTS_02) has 18 PGCs (titles) ScenCap Ver. 1.27 stops in the middle of PGC 14. W/o having that solved I can stop with my tests.

2'nd this is just a dumb question of a Scenarist nb. Pls. look at PGC 9 the green block. Do I understand that right, it is made from VobID (track) 14 CellID (scene) 3 only ??? Is this possible ??? Normally I drop a track onto a title and get the PGC, what do I drop here ? Scene 3 only ???

OK, what is my goal. Well, look a the output ScenCap produces when droping an IFO. If you separate the Cells of a VOBID in sequence and deduct the predecessor's timecode (assuming VOBID/CELL 1 starts at 00:00:00;00/fps) you get very easily the individual cell timecode within the VOBID (you know that silly issue, where you have to manual calculate with ChapterXtractor the cell-timecode when rebuilding a VOBID (track) in Scenarist).

Example:
see the blue block above:
Cell 68, VobID 23 CellID 1 will start at 00:00:00;00/fps in the scenarist track, so deduct 01:20:38;12/25 from all cells in VobID 23 and you get the individual cell times.

(23/1) Start 00:00:00;00/25
(23/2) Start 00:00:58;05/25
(23/3) Start 00:01:40;06/25
(23/4) Start 00:02:03;08/25
(23/5) Start 00:02:08;01/25
(23/6) Start 00:02:55;10/25
(23/7) Start 00:05:15;10/25
(23/8) Start 00:07:05;17/25
(23/9) Start 00:08:02;10/25
(23/10) Start 00:09:03;09/25
(23/11) Start 00:12:47;06/25
(23/12) Start 00:16:18;10/25

Note: maybe something wrong, just the principle, I did a rough calc by hand will do with X-Cel exactly ;-).

If you find a 23/x further down the road you would need to add. I'll programm something in X-Cel the next days (as soon as the ScenCap bug is solved). Btw. what is meant by the 'type' ?

You do this for every VobID and you're ready, much easier than ChapterXtractor. Any thoughts...

best regards, mike

Hy mike.

When did you start do work with Scenarist?:D

You want to make an excel sheet for changing the timecode of each vobID?
Where do you get the exact timecode? from the .avs files?

(23/1) Start 00:00:00;00/25

Does this work?

I have an error popup when I want to create a new script.
If I use 00:00:00;00 only, it works fine.

I think I should reencode this movie how to know, what you are talking about. ;)

Yesterday ;-)
Where I get the timecodes from, ok, is described the post above. Translation follows:
OK, was will ich erreichen.

Btw. I am not primarly interested in creating a script to automate cell/scene generation I am interested to get a semi-automatic way to calculate scene/cell timecodes absolutely within a VobID/track.
Any experts out there to answer my questions ??? Gimme a ping pls...

mike

P.S. I did translate everything german <-> english.
And last but not least, the .d2f import function is somewhat broken in ScenCap Ver. 1.27 I always get an Error: Invalid D2F File whatever I try importing a D2F generated from a PAL VOB. I tried several different, even complete Titleset VOBs, no way...

Back again.

Thanks for german translation.

Just DIF4U Matrix (PAL R2)

I have imported all .m2v of PGC 1 for testing in scenarist.

Now I´ve droped the .scp in scenchap and droped the .ifo, too.

Well, there are no errors in the ifo.

PGC 9 is complete.

PGC 9, 2 Chapters, 2 Cells, Playtime 00:01:10;02/25
Cell 1 (12/2) Chap 1, Type 6, Angle 0, Start 00:00:00;00/25
Cell 2 (14/3) Chap 2, Type 2, Angle 0, Start 00:00:02;10/25

PGC 1 Cell 101:

Cell 100 (36/1) Chap 0, Type 10, Angle 0, Start 01:50:07;11/25
Cell 101 (37/1) Chap 0, Type 14, Angle 0, Start 01:50:10;01/25
Cell 102 (37/2) Chap 0, Type 12, Angle 0, Start 01:50:20;01/25

Only Problem, that shows only cell 1 - cell 96 in PGC 14 (should be Cell 116,too)

I know now, why you want a VobID/Scene list.
Create about 37 chapterXtractor eddited Vubsub Lists can be hell.

If no other want to talk with us, we could start a parallel post in german community ;)

About the d2F file:

Just tried to import a *.d2f file of the movie in Scenchap.
Same error like you.

Hi,

I am alomst ready with my X-Cel. I managed to get the same output as ScenCap (without the bug stopping in the middle of PGC 14 !) when importing an IFO (via IfoEdit and the Windows Clipboard ;-).
And I am on the way to create the scenelist. Once I understand more about Scenarist's scripting, I will output a script for direct import, no prob at all.

Again the question, what about PGC 9 having only one cell from VobID 14 (no 3), so it's possible to drop just one scene from a track ?
And what are the Types reflecting, I find Types 2,8,10,12,14 ???

Just received an email from Derrow whats about the Type:

He means, this could be a bitflag which set the Cell-Type.

(Maybe Type 8 is single cells, Type 2 Multiangle start ...)

I compared IFO file in ifoedit and Scenchap.

But I don´t see any context.

I´m waiting for daxab´s reply.
Maybe he could help.

About you X-cel programm:

You need a beta tester ? :D

Hi,

ok, I noticed that nobody is really interested in our discussion, fine, just one final question:

Does anybody know in which technical spec the exact structur of an IFO is described ?

mike

P.S.
I finished my own ScenCap (PAL only, no timecode issues ;-) already (still needs IFOEdit to gather the IFO Information), and once I have the information for the IFO structure I'll start improving it by making the intermediate IFOEdit Copy/Paste Step unnecessary. It'll than read the info required from the IFO directly.

u r way wrong. I am following this thread with great interest. I haven?t post anything yet because I don't have anything useful to offer.

By the way 132 views till now must have a couple of dozens that r following your discussion.

Hi,

fine, if somebody is interested in the Excel, drop me a note, no comlicated ChapterXtractor manual calculation needed anymore. Great help for tiles like Matrix.
