Ok I have am using the cce\ifoedit guide and with films I am having great success and thanks again to eyes only and bear 268.
My prob is this the picture is shaky when people walk or move.
I am going nuts Ihave tried encoding the files with every aspect ratio!!(yes it took a long time)still no luck the menus etc are as the original and everything works just the damn picture..please help

In cce i have checked the dvdcompliant box aspect 4:3 and have tried with aa min birate of 2000 and 0.I have this though scenarist in all aspect ratios I have tried the usual 3 and 4 settings in the gop,quality level 5 and q factor 50.
Please what am i doing wrong,I had the same prob when trying to back up buffy(I noticed both are 20 th century fox!)
Someone has done these no doubt please help me out here,I have put a lot of hours into learning this(and that doesn't bother me) I need to get this right.
Please help.....

Use decomb with telecide and decimate(cycle=5) in your .avs file. Don't forcefilm in DVD2AVI. That should work :D

Fantastic Eyes Only thanks for that,I think there's a guide here regarding avisynth(never used it before but if it sorts this out I'm converted!)
Does that cycle apply to PAL

Anyway thanks again I enjoy the challenge of dvd but re-encoding a tv series several times and getting the same result can be VERY annoying.

For PAL, i think you just omit the Decimate line. If it's pure interlaced you can use the FieldDeinterlace() line instead of telecide and decimate.

For PAL, never ever forcefilm.
