I've got a minor problem with pulldown that has happened to me 2 times now. I tried seeing if anyone else had this same problem, but no luck...

My movie I'm trying to pulldown is Terminator 2 which is NTSC. I've encoded everything alright and my m2v file can be read in Windows Media Player, but when I go to run a pulldown, it says:

"Unable to open file t2_d2v_vfapi.m2v for reading"

What did I do??

To add a little more detail, here's exactly what I'm putting in my command line:

D:\t2\pulldown.exe t2_d2v-vfapi.M2V pulldown.M2V

After that, it brings up the error message. It has done that for 2 different movies now and I'm wondering if it got encoded wrong or if its just a problem with pulldown. I'm at a loss.

try this i dont know if it matters, just a guess:

cd to your appropriate folder and make sure the pulldown.exe is in that folder..isnt CCE supposed to make a .mpv file? or are u not using CCE?

then do:
pulldown moviename.mpv outputname.m2v or this: pulldown movie.m2v output.m2v

that should work dont put pulldown.exe just pulldown and make sure hte pulldown.exe file is in the dir with the mpv..or just use Eyes`Only program DoItFast4U whcih i recommend for everyone..it automatically does pulldown for u..its on doom9.

Thanks a lot for the response...I'll give both methods a try. I didn't even think of the DoItFastForU....I'm just sticking to the guides right now, but I guess this is why we have great forums like this:)

I see your problem:
You are making your titles too complicated for yourself.
Notice:
"Unable to open file t2_d2v_vfapi.m2v for reading"
Now note:
D:\t2\pulldown.exe t2_d2v-vfapi.M2V pulldown.M2V
You can see that the two titles are not the same. Try changing the title to something simple, like "T2.M2V".

Pulldown.exe just simply IS NOT working.

I've done everything suggested and even reripped and reencoded my movie and I'm still getting the same error. It can't read the mpv file and I don't know why. I've done everything by the book and from what I've read, pulldown.exe should be a simple command line program and its giving me hell.

After CCE is done encoding, should the MPV file be defaulted to open in some sort of media application? Mine right now wants to open in WMP.

BTW, I'm using pulldown on a different movie now...I gave up on T2 because I thought I screwed up somewhere along the line and I figured I'd be better off just to try and work with a different movie. Now i'm working with Lord Of The Rings. Same error...different movie.

I downloaded pulldown from doom9 so I'm guessing I'm using the exact same application that hundreds of other people are using and I'm ruling out pulldown itself as the problem.

I think your peoblem might be where you said that you didn`t select the NTSC setting in Chapterextractor, you might be trying to pulldown a pal encoded movie. I would fix that and rencde in CCE.

Try using the gui version of pulldown..its much easier to use and all you have to do is browse to your m2v file
