Been using Tmpeg to encode divx avis into mpeg-2s for DVD. I have been using the wizzard, which uses CBR at 3000 bitrate. I have seen in a lot of guides that most people use VBR 2 Pass, with a min of 300 , Avg of 6000, and Max of 9000. Can someone please explain to me the difference between the various modes in Tmpeg, CBR, VBR, CQ and so on? Further more, what is the best to use for each situation and how would you know? Also, I am wondering what the difference is between Interlace and Non-Interlace, and Top vs. Bottom field. How you'd know what to set these options to I dont know.
