View Full Version : multiple angle (main movie) / Cell Stripping?

I've carefully read the guide from trilight, and I think his guide is good for extras, but what about main movies? Some movies (for example Star Wars EP1) have 2 angles, one for a language, and the 2nd for another. The movie is the same for the 2 angles, exept when some text apears (mainly at the begining and the end of the movie). I'd like to know, instead of having nearly twice the same movie (space really wasted: low quality) if it is possible to create exactly the same structure as the original DVD with scenarist....

I've not done the title you speak of but I can almost guarantee you it requires that the structure be recreated by vobid (or if it's even more complex, by cell id). You can see this if you inspect the IFO in IFOedit. Look through the PGC's and see if they use the same vobid's as one another. If so, you need to strip the VTS by vobid and recreate the structure as is listed in the original IFO. If you actually have different angles, (again, I've not actually seen this title) then you will notice that each angle is in it's own vobid and does not span to others. Again, rip by vobid and recreate the original structure as it appears in the IFO.

i thought only sw ep2 had angles...
VTS_01 (main movie) has more than one PGC, but all have their own VOB ID, if i'm not mistaken... only the 1st is long...
i have a similar problem with X-men (i think it has seamless braching)
3 pgc's each with a diferent length. will need to use doitfast4u i think!!!
sw ep1 (r2) was the movie i just finished last night. don't have any low quality image, issues. and i've watched the recorded DVD. everything works as it should.

I am doing Armagedon using DoItFast. Multigle in the main VTS. This particular title has separate Vob Id's for the angles.

I did not want to double the size of mpv. Well, it took 6 hours to stip by VobId. (what's taking long is the part where DoItFast indexes all subtitles) Then putting it together will be another long process, I am sure.

My question is if there is another way to do this less painfully. I am thinking of stripping each angle using IfoEdit (I would set VOB-IDs to match the angle I am stripping) then use DoItFast then Scenarist. (I know it's not by VobId but it sure will save a lot of time, if it works)

Multiple angles are always in seperate vobid's. Just FYI... don't be surprised if you go stripping this and stripping that and you end up with a flakey disc. ;)

Thanks for the input..yes indeed, there is not an easier way to do this. Here is what I can't figure out. I am trying this out on my first movie with multiangle (Armagedon).

This movie has one PGC in the main, which consists of VobIds 1,2,4,5,7,8,10...for angle one, 1,3,4,6,7,9,10...for angle two. I used DoItForYou and striped everything by VobIds.

In Scenarist I imported all those tracks under PGC1 then hit compile...well, I get this message.

Warning Audio gap is 1 frames "C:\a4\VTS__04_A1V01-80ch6English.AC3".
Warning The Audio gap is filled by repeating last audio frame
Error This VOB duration (10708.5 frames) is not multiple number of frame.
Error dvd_mux : DoMux Multiplexing Error
Error Terminated Multiplexing (arma41.scn-VTS__04_V02_1.mpv-t_t.vob.0).
Error The VOB duration must be even number of fields.
Error Multiplex is failed.
Info Multiplexing failed, Track<VTS__04_V02_1.mpv-t>

That particular audio can be played flawlessly in PowerDVD, so kinda lost there. Also, the thing about VOB duration is way above my comprehension... Can somesone put some light on those messages?
