DVD2AVI Weirdness

For the first time I'm having a go with GKnot instead of doing it all manually.

A problem I've come across is this.

If I use the built in DVD2AVI (1.76), the saved d2v won't load into GKnot. It works fine if I use 1.86.

Does anybody know about this problem?
Is using 1.86 going to cause me problems?

however, if the file opens i don't think you should have any problems.

which version of gknot are you using?
could it be that you haven't gotten all of the .27 updates?
what does gknot say when you try to open a 1.76 d2v file?

Absolute latest everything, downloaded yesterday from Doom9 according to the DivX 5 guide.

The error is "Not a valid d2v (1.76), avi or avs file."

As it happens, the process completed succesfully with the 1.86 d2v file, although I couldn't use the 64 bit SSE2 iDCT.

Can I just replace the DVD2AVI EXE in the GKnot folder with the 1.86 version?
