hi,
i have a big problem when trying to use avisynth 2.5.
the problem is, that since using avisynth 2.5, two out of three encodes got stuck at a certain frame and from there on simply played in a loop of displaying three frames until the actual frame-number was reached and then stopped.
i really have to solve that issue in order to be able to use yv12!
any help out here?

It looks like its an Mpeg2dec3 YV12 bug Marc Fd is working to solve this isue @ the moment there is no other way then useing Avisynth 2.0x and Mpeg2dec3 YUY2 to get around this "Repeating Frame" bug sorry

Thing is, it is made clear in the faq that this avisynth version and associated plugins too are to be considered 'alpha' (not even beta stage), so all we can do is try them to see what happens - at our
own risk.
All you have to do is go back to the YUY2 version of avisynth and
associated plugins. That's what I did for the moment and I suggest
that you do the same until Marc (or somebody else) releases an updated mpeg2dec3 for yv12.

Yes and that was what I meant too. We have fun trying them and then reporting on the results, especially when we meet with problems :)
We have to give a big thank you to all those who develop these programs and plugins.

it looks like i solved the issue for me. i am running my avisynth-script now for the first quarter of a movie wich got stuck before after 2 minutes.
the trick: after trying really everything else i got to the conclusion that anything in the chain possibly got confused by an error in the videostream itself. that came to me, since also with avisynth 2.07 (i think the version is..) there were errors. there the picture didn't loop, but i got quite some artifacts. funny thing is, that they appeared at totally different frames, but still i had errors.
so i checked my ide-drivers (via 4in1) and saw, that the driver-installation didn't apply when i made it (used the new "hyperion", wich now replaces 4in1). so i just installed my "old" 4in1 drivers, reripped the dvd and: voila - errors are gone in all versions of avisynth!
i still have to run a full encode to make absolutely sure, but it looks very promising.
if you don't here from me in this thread anymore, you know that at least for me, that was the cure!
happy me :) !
[edit] sleepy me just sees, that i actually wanted to answer that long in the link to the thread where people had the same problem, but still, it might be usefull info and i'll just copy my anser over there right now..
