Hello,

I have some startrek DVD's from the next generation series.
Every DVD contains 4 episodes.
The dvd is to large to put on 1 dvd.
Every episode is about 1.8GB.

So i wanted to split them over 2 dvd's but i only can find guides that are talking about 1 movie to split over 2 dvd's.

Does someone know how i can put 2 episodes on 1 single dvd ?

Thanks !

Well i'm new to dvd encoding my self but i have read a lot of posts and a lot of guides " a hell of a lot , hehe ".
I have never tried this but as a guess it should work.

1.Rip each episode into it's own directory " using dvd decyrpter in ifo mode " so you can import them into maestro " hope you have it ".

2.Since your only putting 2 episodes per disk you wont need to re-encode them with cce.

3.Open maestro and impot your assets " m2v , ac3 , chp list etc " that dvd decyrpter made for you "

4.Make a menu " check the guides here if you dont know how " and set your buttons for each episode etc , and then compile it.

If you cant grasp the ideas here you need to read more posts and guides as i'm sure it will work " well ok pretty sure , hehe "

Hmmm... forgot to search for "trek". What you want is here:

Easier the previous reply, no need for re-authoring. If you go to the thread, start with the very last post (mine), because it seems that PAL, R2 has two types. My own disks each have their four episodes in four different set of different VOBS. It is *extremely* easy to split to two episodes. Just do two identical copies and have the VTS_xx_1&2.VOB (large size) only in the corresponding disk...

Let us know how it goes...

PS some people here I think complained about the quality after they re-encoded all four episodes into one disk. Well, to start with, the quality I think is a bit crap anyway. Ok, it is an old series, but the image is nowhere near crispy... I have not doen a VOB analysis, but maybe they should have only put three episodes per disk... Amazing series though !!!
