as i've never seen a female divX/ VCD /SVCD encoder or even user (well except some little sister constantly bitching about that they want to see the complete Ice Age / Monster Inc. since they came into the room some ten minutes to late after we started the movie;)
i just wanted to know how many are around here in the forums... since most of the nicks don't tell anything about gender somebody has to ask i guess

basically it came down to the female members didnt want to post who they are in fear of drawing too much attention to themselves. However I'd personally be interested to know myself since I've only seen like 2 female members.
Well since its a poll they should just take the poll and not post if they arent comfortable :O

C'mon guys, now you're overrating the "Gender Bender".

If a female shows her real gender with the nick (or vice versa - a male making a joke about you :P ) just look how strange the replies to such a question get: "Nice nick. Ah, and for your problem - i don't know a solution. DO you want to meet me?". Well, something like that.

Simply for that reason, some hormonally unsettled teenagers getting far out of topic, I vote for our women (and girls) to hide their gender. It's simply far more effective in terms of usable answers/discussions.

And for women who can encode: my GF had to watch me setting up encodes so often, I'm sure she's able to do that as well now and I would be pleased with the results. But to be honest, I don't know why that would be sexy.

(No, it's not sexy if you can talk with the opposite sex for hours about maximum runtimes of algorithms and stuff.)

well since this is an international forum and afaik there are really people from almost everywhere on the globe around the chance that the few girls would live somehow close by (even within a range of a few hundred kilometers) would be extremely tiny. even if they would tell where they were from, which i wouldn't do if i were one.

anyway i'd still appreciate any female member "outing" herself!
