is there a piece of software that will let me match the colours in my scans and printouts? i scanned my stargate cover and printed it out, and it looks good, but the colours are slightly different.

i am looking for something that will let me scan something in, print it out, and then rescan it so the program can make adjustements or something similar. i have tried playing around with a few settings but they don't work.

btw i have an epson perfection 1250 scanner and an epson c60 printer

Sorry, there is no tool that I am aware of that offers this type of calibration.

What you are really wanting to do is calibrate your monitor and your printer and then your scanner and your monitor.

There are software tools around to aid in this process. Photoshop (I believe) comes with software to calibrate your printer and your monitor so that what you see on your screen is what you get on the printer. Adobe also have software available.

There are other solutions (hardware etc) but they cost megabucks.

Once your printer is printing what you see on screen then it's a matter of scanning multiple images on the scanner and modifying it's settings until the scanned "on screen" images look the same as what you print out.

It's no fun and very subjective.

try these for some reasonable explanations:
