Ive been using GKnot for a while and have had no problems with it. i recently upgraded to the latest version and converted a few films and everything was still honky dory. However, everytime I convert a film now it the final avi file only has 2 seconds of audio. Does anyone know why this is? I play the AC3 file on its own and it also only has 2 seconds of audio and then preceeds to crash my PC. Anyone know whats going on?

so your ac3-file is corrupt.
some kind of ripping or demuxing problem...?
maybe try vStrip?

I get this every once in a while too. Like the last 10 minutes of audio will be cut off, GKnot will correct the bitrate way beyond what it should be, because of the smaller .mp3 file, and I'll have to do the whole thing all over again.
I find that ripping again is the only real way to solve this as repeating the process with the corrupt .vob's or .ac3 (?? - whatever) elicits the same cut-off audio problem.
I always use the same process (SmartRipper -- or now DVDecypter -- BeSweet) and things have always worked out the second time.
Strange that...
