Ear damage by MP3, DVD and digital television?

According to this article we should all stop using compressed audio cause it will damage our hearing. Due to the compression, which leaves certain sounds out, the ears would become lazy and degrade.
I wonder if looking at all these jpegs online will degrade my eyes:rolleyes: Oh God, better stop watching my compressed backups and watch the DVDs instead. Darned, their compressed too.....:)

What I wanted to point out is that there is a lot of other stuff to hear than digital music and television. So, as long as not all sounds we get to hear are digitally compressed, I don't think our ears will degrade too much.

So if you have enough technobabble it makes it true? What a crock. CD's are missing portions of audio data dontcha know? 16bits as opposed to 24bit etc and only a 44khz frequency. Now tell me that all those people who brought CD's and listened to them are hearing imparied because of it.

Only thing I can think of that would cause hearing impairment like that is listening to an entire Britney Spears albums.
