CCE Encoding Problems

Hey what's up everyone, just wanted to see if any of you would have a solution to my problem. I'm trying to use CCE v2.66 to encode from avi->mpeg2 but it isn't turning out right. I get a purple haze around the outside of the entire movie. When it first starts encoding it isn't there, but it slowly begins to show up until about 10 min through the movie when it stays constantly purple for the duration of the film. I thought it was only on xvid files, but it turns out it did the same with divx. I am clueless on this one. I run CCE at work and there's no purple haze. I compared codecs from the ones at work with the ones I have at home and deleted the extras I had to see if it made a difference and it didn't. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Is your machine overclocked? Sounds like it starts making math errors after the chip heats up. You may also have memory errors.

I'd suggest downloading Prime95 and running the torture test overnight and seeing what happens. If that fails download a memory testing utility like GoldMemory or Memtest.

A lot of PCs have bad RAM.

Thanks, I'll try that when I get off shift tonight. I don't know what it could be, I think it started happening when I started installing a bunch of codecs because I was having problems with xvid files, not quite sure though. I also use TMPGenc now and don't have any problems with it. If only TMPGenc could be faster, that'd be awesome, but it's not so oh well. Thanks for your input, if that works I'll let ya know. Someone also said that it may be the "modification" I'm using..ya know the make free modification? ;) I'll also try installing an older version of CCE and see what happens. Maybe the new version just doesn't agree with my pc. I'll let ya know either way.
