Digital photos can be viewed on DVD player?

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone is familiar with a free program that will allow you to burn *.jpg's onto CD's so that they can be viewed with a DVD player.

that this does not depend on the program you are using to burn, but on your DVD player... some do support it some don't. mine for example does. so if your player supports cd rw i'd recommend you'd just burn one cd rw with some jpgs, don't forget to finalize it and then just try!

I think TSCV can do this for you.
It will make a slideshow project, which should be fine on pretty much all standalones.

there is an article about pictures on cd/dvd in this monday's c't (german magazine). they recommend VCDEasy (http://www.vcdeasy.org/). freeware.

I recommend Ulead DVD Pictureshow...makes stills = HQ. Anything with transitions with a .avi = not that great quality. Still ain't got dvd burner yet but I'm sure it works great cuz the video cds it makes are awesome.

There are several ways of creating a picture show, with or without sound, using VCD or SVCD formats. The most compatible way to burn JPEGs on a CD to be viewed on a DVD player is probably to burn them as VCD stills (high 702x576 resolution, not the low video resolution of 352x288).

There are more and more players available on the market that can directly read a regular CD with JPEGs simply burnt as regular files on it. My Cyberhome 402 does it, for example. There are several slideshow options like various transitions, rotate the picture, auto resize, zooming, etc.
