Only small resolutions available in Vdub?

I'm trying out different programs for capturing video, but I have a problem with VirtualDub.

In "Format" - "Resolution" I can only choose 352x288 (YUY2). If I choose a higher resolution an error box appears: "VirtualDub capture error - Error 418: Video format not supported".

I have captured in resolutions higher thatn 352x288 with other programs.

What is wrong?

VirtualDub only works with vfw driver. But some Cards only have wdm driver (and some other programs use them). The "translator" is included in windows, but sometimes it doesn't work with 576 lines. If you go to st custom format you can select 768*576 and you shouldn't have any problems if you select yuy2 too. If you want to capture with 576 lines, you can try btwincap ( btwincap.sourceforge.net ).
