First of all Happy New Year to all of you, and congratulations for the excellent job.
I did the DVD2SVCD conversion, it looks great when I playback the image file on the Windvd player, but when i burnt out the disc with Nero/three times-2x, 4x, 8x:-)/ its coming out choppy on my PC, as well on the dvd player.
And if u let me one more Q. I tried to make an avi2vcd conversion using Nero. The quallity is good, its fast/about2 hours/, but the image is upside down, and mirrored. any ideas?

Did you actually burn the image file created, or did you burn the MPEG with Nero's SVCD capability? You want to do the former.

Next step: Check http://www.vcdhelp.com to see what they have to say about your standalone dvd player. It may not fully support SVCD. It's strange, however, that playback is choppy on your PC as well. Check vcdhelp anyway, though.

Could it be your media you are burning to isn't that great? I've had similar problems with crappy media. They work fine with data mode1 burns, but mode2 just doesn't come out right.

OK. I thought it might be the medium,& I tryed different ones.
Same result.I thoght it might be my DVD/RW ROM, but everything else I wrote is just fine. Even I burnt it with clonecd, but the result is the same.
I shall try to encode it one more time in MPEG1, and shall see the results, but trust me I`m tired wasting CDs:-).

Have you ever thought that your burner is bad? or has a hard time burning to the edge of disks? If your "cue/bin" files are not choppy before you burn the movie, and are then choppy after you burn the same "cue/bin" files on to disk, then it's probably hardware related try the same "cue/bin" files that have failed on your system on another computer.
