any time i try to encode an avi using 2 pass vbr, at 50% i get stream reading error when i use 2.59. Using 2.53 i never had this problem. Has anyone else experienced this problem, or is it just because im such a noob.

i'm having this same exact problem.

i got DVD2SVCD ver. 1.1.3 build 2 because it can handle AVI and subtitles. before that, i used ver. 1.1.0 build 1c, which didn't have the "Add external subtitle streams" feature.

with ver. 1.1.0, i used *TMPGEnc-2.58.44.152-Plus* as my encoder. i NEVER had any problems with it, so i decided to use it as my encoder for ver. 1.1.3. i've tried encoding a few movies, and ALL of them came up with the same error.

i'm using 2pass VBR, high quality. every single time, at 50%, that error comes up, "Stream reading error.". one time, i used CBR, lowest quality, instead of VBR, and it worked.

locdawg18...
by your post, it seems like you've tried 2.59 with NO success, and had success with 2.53. either way, i'll try an earlier version. if it doesn't work, or if i can't find an answer, i'll use CCE.

I had the same error long time ago (I can't remeber what it was), but it is only a faulty setting in the template you are using! Try to find out what it is! It should be something with the bitrate, but i really can't remember.

Sorry that I can't give you more help.

Maybe you could send me the template and I'll try to reproduce the error!?

Just post the template here (as text!) in a quote!
