I know maestro uses mp2 and m2v files.

if I produce them via tmpgenc with 3:2 pulldown set for a NTSC source will they be in sync or do I have to fanny around?

I'm less worried about them being identified as digital by the amp as I am by them playing in sync.

do I need to do something to the mp2 at all to make it sync up?

you just have to drop it into the maestro timeline, maestro can only 'create sync audio track' with .ac3 or .wav

so are you saying I need to run besweet on the mp2 file tmpgenc generates to make it ac3?

or do I save at the virtualdub point as a wav and besweet it? if that is so, will the wav generated by virtualdub be out of sync until it gets to maestro? because it will have been generated at 29.97 against a video file that has been decombed to 23.976?
