Does anyone here know more about http://www.replicantdvd.com/
Their wonderful screenshot shows only an outline of the steps to perform, so I can't tell if this is a real, new program, or another ripoff a la DVDBackup.

edit: You know what I really like about their ad, the claim that "Not even a DVD burner can do that"

lets see,

1. smartripper or dvddecrypter
2. DVDx or flaskmpeg
3. vcdeasy
4. vcdeasy tools

now i am not saying that is what it is but that is what their single screenshot makes it look like. maybe if they showed it working people would think it wasnt a rippoff like dvdcopyplus from 321studios. i have even gotten email from a couple of people that seem to think Jean Luc and i are a part of 321studios and demand help since they bought dvdcopyplus. i wish i was though when you consider that they have sold (according to RHMoore in an interview i read) over 100,000 copys. at $49:95 thats not bad for writing a guide bundleing the software together.
here in Australia there is actually now a law about deceptive advertising and 1 large chain got fined for having "20% off everything" covering most of their catalog and then in tiny print on the bottom they had "except...". pity it isnt an international law.
backupdvd is a different thing in that they actually just changed some text ,added a registration and recompiled it. its funny but i am seeing more and more commercial programs that seem to all have the same options (like hd/ram buffering, set zooms, interpolate deinterlace etc etc etc). wonder where they all got the source from ? i mean lets re-arrange this window (_http://www.dvdtodivx.net/), move the preview window down with the time and the timebar. lose those 2 giant buttons and now what does that look like to you ?
i think i should stop now, i dont want to get another threat for $10,000 (thats U.S. dollars) for slander.

note that i have questioned the other 2 software and not accused so anyone that want to sue me can sprout wings fly away (being polite). :D

Why doesn't this surprise me? I've been waiting for this to be 'outed' for some time now - I'm actually surprised it got away with it for as long as it has - I only regret that my coding talents are, frankly, zero, so I do not possess the necessary skills to 'out' imposter coding. I'm so sick of seeing freeware programmers being flagrantly ripped off by unscrupulous morons with little or no coding talent. I'd personally like to offer a big CHEER for all the hardworking and talented freeware programmers who actually try to contribute something to the computer video scene, rather than leeching off it. It is you who make the scene what it is, and I thankyou all for it - you know who you are - many of you being committed Doom9 forum members.
