I'm converting a large amount of Anime in *.avi form into VCD. However, a few of the files will cause TMPGEnc to crash out at the end. The Data so far is:

Version is 2.59.47.115 with Core 1.92.142. I am running Windows 2000 with Serive Pack 2.
The same files that cause TMPGEnc to crash before, will crash it again.
The files have "DIVX" FourCC. DirectShow has been set to priority 1 (above the rest) to solve the problem. However, not all the "DIVX" FourCC files will crash out.
Some of the files have VBR MP3 audio. However, not all files that fail are VBR MP3.
Some of the files are 30fps instead of 24. They are encoded using the correct setting (VCD NTSC as opposed to VCD NTSC-Film). Files that crash out include both 30fps and 24fps.
All of the incomplete MPEG files are exactly 252,379,136 bytes long.
The files will crash out both in normal mode, and in batch mode. Note: It is very irritating to set up a batch encode, go to sleep, then wake up only to discover less than a fourth of it done.
Deleting and re-instaling TMPGEnc does not help.

So if it's not the FourCC, not the framerate, not VBR MP3, not Batch mode, and re-installing it doesn't work, any idea what the problem IS?
