I am having trouble encoding the Die Another Day avi with Tmpeg. The file is an Xvid, but every time I try encoding the avi file, with sound or not sound, it gives me write errors and does nothing. Any suggestions or help on how to get this to work?

Still having the same issues, with only this particular movie. Any help would be greatly apreciated.

Can you specify when the write error occurs? I had trouble once with a stargate sg-1 episode I was trying to convert. It had ac3 audio and was encoded with divx5, unfortunately, whatever I did wouldn't work. It would always crash when it hit the second pass of TMPGEnc. I can't remember, but I think it was write error. In the end, I was forced to re-encode it w/o audio with divx5 (you could possibly use huffyuv, I was forced to, because I'm FAT32) and it worked from there. So if you have ac3 audio, that could be the source of your problem. BTW, CCE would do the same thing.

It happens right after you click start. It happens if I use the original avi, or one stripped of aduio. It is encoded with XVid.

I'm not sure what's causing that, so I guess you could try changing the fourcc or maybe re-encoding it to huffyuv and try from there.
