Is there any way to continue a failed DVD2SVCD 'batch' job?

I say batch because that's basically what DVD2SVCD does for you, as it is a do-all program...

I was running short of hard drive room, so when DVD2SVCD came around to making the .bin/.cue files, it didn't have room and thus failed and stopped. Is there any way to start the encode process from a different point (not from the ripped .ifo/.vob files). Say I already have a .d2v file, the .avs script I want for TMPGenc (or CCE), the audio is already ripped, just not encoded for each CD (if more than 1) is there anyway to skip the DVD2AVI project file creation and just start encoding (without manually starting TMPGenc, of course).

Also, are there any simple GUIs for the command line based utilities included with DVD2SVCD? (I know I can answer this myself by searching doom9.org, just thought I'd ask before I do that) like bbmpeg, etc etc.

Yes, there is. You apparently know how to answer it yourself: Search for recover.

My question was more general, not just for crashes but also for starting a batch encoding job from a different step, which is not able to be changed from the recover step in the misc tab. And I quote:Is there any way to start the encode process from a different point (not from the ripped .ifo/.vob files).I guess I'll just go the route of getting the programs myself and figuring out how to use them seperately. Just like Gordian Knot I'll get more knowledge by starting here, and then just taking it one step further and being able to do each part step by step by myself

You just can continue at stages that were finished in the first interrupted run. If DVD2SVCD crashes in the last stage (finalizing) you can chose to continue from any previous step you have completed before, there is a pulldown menu to select the stage.
If you change the value 'projectPosition' to 62 in your 'dvd2svcd project file.d2s' you can select every stage. But of course it will make no sense to stop at audio conversion and continue at finalizing, by messing up with these settings you are on your own and can make anything, good or bad.
