I've downsampled my movie so that it fits on a 4.3gb disc, I have the menu vob which i've edited out unwanted material.

Now when i use Ifoupdate to merge the two ifo's files together and then test it using ifoedit the menu works fine with sound but when i press play for the movie the sound is not there????

This is really puzzling me, can anyone help

I just want to keep the original menu with downsampled movie, why is this so hard?

Cheers

Did u put the audio stream in your authoring programm at the same position as the original.

What prog did u use for authoring?
Did the project had sound in the the simulation?

We need these and any other info u can provide to help.

I'm authoring the m2v and mp2 files in IfoEdit v0.95, The movie plays fine on its own either through IfoEdit DVD Play or even burned to a DVD-R but when you add the original menu and merge the two vts_01_1.ifo files together using IfoUpdate v0.57 then the menu works with sound but the movie doesn't ?????

the original audio was mpeg also or ac3? Keep in mind that the original ifos and menus contain commands that expect certain streams in certain positions.

This brings the subject back in my 1st answer. Did u put the audio in the same position, ie 1st 2nd etc, in the vob?

The audio was converted to a wav using dvd2avi and then converted along with the movie in to mp2 using Tmpgenc. Then i used Ifoedit to re-author in to vobs.

I have got it working now, I have sound playing in the movie, but I can't record the damn thing unless I force it to and then it won't play in my standalone dvd player.

Cheers for the help.
