hey all, i have the sony dru500a 1.0f in a win2000 machine. I've been burning data dvd±r using the recordnow software that came with the drive and most recently recordnow Max. I've yet been able to burn a disc (+r nor -r using various media) that can be read on my Powerbook running OS X. Sometimes the disc will just spit back out and other times only folders appear. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I did DVD-R (movies)which works fine in a apple G4.
Anyway, OS X seems very sensitive to read errors and I have a dvd coaster which is magic as it can freeze any mac in 1 sec !
All that to say, which media did you use ?
From my experience, if you use crap/cheap media you are going into trouble with MAC.

success! I've been burning from Nero 5.5.10 onto Verbatim DVD-Rs and the results now view fine on the Mac. However for some reason Nero gives an error when i try to burn onto Verbatim DVD+Rs even though they burn fine from RecordNow Max.
Something like: "Communication error" "Could not initialize Disk at Once"
