over the last 2+ years i have learned anything (almost) i could ever want to know about dvd backups ... divx, svcd, mini-dvds, etc...

but, i have been looking to expand my backing up into video games and have found information on platform games (xbox, gamecube, ps2) but i am having trouble finding good information on pc games and was hoping someone could point me in the right direction.

thanks in advance!

Alot of pc games have built in copy protection which wont allow you to play the game unless you have the original cd. There are numerous types of copy protection such as unreadable sectors in certain parts of the cd making it impossible to backup. www.gamecopyworld.com has many patches available for just about every game which will allow to to play your backups successfully.

It is possible to copy almost any PC game without the need for cracks.

I would recommend trying a different forum, although I can probably answer any question you have.

Basically the first step in copying any PC game is to figure out what protection if any is used on it. The easiest way for a begginer is probably to use a protection scanner such as Clony.

Once you know what it is protected with, then you can figure out the best way around it.

Before this gets out of hand I'll close this thread. This forum is not about copying pc-games.

Thank you.
