A friend of mine gave me the soprano's the entire first season on 4 dvds. I want to rip each EPISODE (not disk) to an svcd disk. I use DVD2SVCD to do all my svcd's as I seem to find it being the best at this. I also use cce as the encoder.

Can anyone recomend how to rip each episode on the disk so Instead of making a bunch of broken season's on multiple disks? If you follow what I mean?

I think he said there is 4 episodes to a DVD disk. SO the total is 16 I think. But all are different lengths? Sorry I can't post the lengths as I am at work at the moment.

Can anyone offer me any assistance?

Thanks
Spankey

When you open dvd2svcd, go to the conversion screen. In the movie length dropdown box, there is a list of all the chapters on the dvd. Most likely, each episode is separated into different chapters. Just select the chapters that you need. You can use dvd2avi to see if the chapters you select are the correct ones.

This is not an Advanced topic, therefore it belongs in the Basic forum.

You could also just do a search, or read through Doom9's guides. There's nothing different about "the soprano's full season" that would make you do something different than everything else.

I ripped one episode. Sorry, thats what I meant, not chapters. That was my mistake totally.

I placed the first episode at 1 hour on one svcd and it looked fine on the pc but when I placed it in my phillips dvd player it looked pixelated/noisy. There was noise around all the names of the people. But when I looked at it again in the pc in my pioneer dvd player and ran it out to the tv thru my video card it looked 100% awesome...

Guess the birate was to low for my standalone to take it...Bummer. Guess I have to place each episode on 2 svcd's unless any one can recomend settings for good vcd's using dvd2svcd?

Thanks

First, the Q&A has info on how to do per-episode conversions.

Second, just load the vcd-settings.ini in the misc tab to load the suggested DVD2SVCD settings for conversion to VCD.

I would like to add...the reason why internal routines doesn't work (vstrip may..shoot should've tried it) is because it internal routines attempts to go throw all the vobs rather then just isolating the .vobs pertaining to the paticular PGC. It'll sit there for 10+ mins doing nothing but analyzing once it's hit upon a part of the .vob set that it's part of the PGC.

none of my episodes looked pixellated at all. Set force film to ON. I assume your using CCE.
