Am I missing something here?

For the life of me I can’t find an option in DVD2AVI to create a single file for Uncompressed 24-Bit AVI. I can get it to work with Uncompressed 24-Bit AVI but DVD2AVI splits the files every two gigs, leaving me with a bunch of 2-Gig AVI’S instead one huge AVI.

Any help would greatly be appreciated…I am loving the new resize feature that has been added recently!

I'm not sure, but I suspect that DVD2AVI cannot create OpenDML format AVI's, and this is required to bypass the 2GB filesize limit in the AVI format. Frameserve the video to VirtualDub instead and save it there. Also, using huffyuv will save you some space (50-75%, compressed and non-destructive). Don't think you can both frameserve and use DVD2AVI's internal resizer though.

Thanks for the response…I figured that DDV2AVI wouldn’t be able to do one huge AVI.

I normally do use VirtualDub for resizing and such with DVD2AVI and VFAPI. From the looks of things it seemed like DVD2AVI produced a tad bit better quality than VDub when saving as AVI. I also have used the HUFFY codec, but figured why not shoot for the best quality using 24-bit uncompressed, I have a 200-gig RAID configuration so space is not an issue.

Maybe I wasn't clear: non-destructive means that it doesn't change anything, just like a zip compressed file can be unpacked to it's exact original form. The only difference between a huffy file and an uncompressed AVI is the size! And RGB is overkill anyway, the original (MPEG) is stored in YV12 anyway, so converting to RGB will only create more bits without any new information.
