Comprehension problems :-(

Ok Can someone Please clear this up for me I have read and re-read this so many times my eyes are bleeding... could someone spell it out in the simplest possable terms for me as I am sure it is simple but it is eluding me.

close to the bottem it says:
Now is the time for the real magic! The ability to incorporate your new files back into the original DVD structure so it will be just like the original with menus and all! The first thing we want to do, in this example, is rename our authored VOB files to VTS_02 instead of VTS_01. They are going to replace the VTS_02 files in the original. DO NOT copy over the authored IFO file! DO NOT copy over the VTS_01_0.VOB file! Remove all of the original VOB files (You MUST leave the IFO file and the VTS_02_0.VOB files!) and copy over the new ones in their place.

now i have compiled my data (A.K.A the steps that preceded the step)
but i have reached an impass because i just dont get it.

can someone please spell this out for me in a way i can understand.

It took a little while for it all to sync in on me too. It takes patience, that is for certain. It took me 3 days before I made my 1st successful dvd-9 to dvd-5 conversion using a method similar to this, except i used Scenarist. What part are you stuck on, or where are you at now? Do you have the newly reathored VOBs/ifo made and just dont know what to do next?

Ok I have my original ino files and vob's plus I have the new ifo nand vob's which i recently compiled
but the prt in red is where i get lost.

Ok. Rename all of your new generated files to what the original ones are named (if your orig dvd ripped main movie files are called VTS_02_x.vob/ifo then you will need to rename your new vobs/ifo to VTS_02_x to match the originals). Make a new dir on your hard drive and copy (or cut/paste) all of the newly generated 1gig vobs only to that dir but leave the newly generated ifo where it is, and then copy everything BUT the 1gig vobs movie files from the original dvd rip dir. Then Search for a proggy called IFOUpdate. In it load up the original ifo that you just copyed over to the new folder (called VTS_02_0.ifo, or whatever the 1gig files are named) into Original IFO path, and load up the newly generated ifo into the Authored ifo path, and you can specify where you want it to save a backup of the original ifo (anywhere is fine, you probably wont need it anyway). Then hit Update IFO (you should get a couple of msgs saying that its updating), then hit correct VTS sectors, then hit set region free. Thats it. Just drag and drop all of the files from the new folder to the VIDEO_TS folder of the dvd video window in nero and burn it. It would probably be best to burn it to a rw disc to see if it works.
