EDIT: both in xvid and divx encoding, an Athlon64 1,2 Ghz is almost as fast as a P4 2,2 Ghz ;)

And I bet the Athlon64 will be almost as hot as the P4, too ;)

The Quake3 benchmark is even better :eek:

Interesting to note that in the 3dmark benchmarks, the one where Athlon64 is superior is the Lobby bench. I think i have read somewhere that this one is the most CPU demading of all (correct?), and the others are more graphics intensive.

Also the Spec results are very promissing.

In this case it does not really matter since the resolution is quite low (800*600). Lower resolution means that the CPU gets more important, because the bottleneck GPU is reduced.

1 meg of cache really helps...
take the p4 for example... when they switched from the willy to the northwood core!!!

wow 1.2ghz and its right up there with the p4 2.2ghz :eek: :eek: :eek: talk about efficient! The cache would play a big part I think though , 1mb of cache ? how much will this thing cost?

by the way isn't the nature test a pure CPU power test???I don't think so - you can only run it with hardware directx 8 acceleration (that means Radeon 7500 and Geforce 2 can't even run this test). If it was a pure CPU power test, I guess it should run on every graphics adapter.

yep but what i meant is that the cpu power has a lot of influence in this test, meaning a you will see a greater diference by increasing cpu power than you will if you increase GFX power!
at least thats what i think i've read on many post at madonion.com

Maybe... I really can't say because I have a Radeon 7500 card :D
