dvd-r audio too soft

please can anyone point me in the right direction as to increasing the volume on a dvd-r

How are you copying the movie to the DVD-R? Are you transferring it directly from the rip? Encoding it then using an AC3 file? Mp3 file? Need some more details here.

I am ripping using either Smartripper or DVD Decrypter
Then I get the AC 3 file using DVD2Avi
After re-encoding with CCE I put the audio back with the video in DVD Maestro.
