Sound problems capturing with ATI 7500

When I capture with my All In Wonder 7500, whether I do it with Virtual Dub or Ulead Video Studio, I get some popping - crackling sounds. I am capturing from laser disk. I get these sounds whether I capture 44khz or 48khz. Since the 7500 loops through your existing soundcard (a poor way of doing things) I thought it might be my sound card so I put in another one and it still does it. So it does it in 2 different programs and 2 different sound cards, so it looks like it has something to do with the 7500 card itself. Can someone help me out with this?

Just go direct to the line-in of your sound card, and avoid using the 7500 pass-through altogether (to see what's really the cause). Or, try connecting the TAD internally from the 7500 to your soundcard.
