Red Dwarf, Season 1, episodes 1-6, 2:56 in all.
1. I ripped the episodes with DVD Decrypter.
2. Kept just the vobs, made new Ifo with ifo edit.
Plays ok on PowerDVD. Chapter, subs, the lot.
3. Made M2V file using DVD2SVCD with CCE 2.50(I was lazy, ok? :) )
4. Ripped subs with Subrip 1.11 (about 2200 of them). The text file has them all in the correct place.
5. Ripped chapters with Chapter extractor.
6. Threw them at Maestro, where they were blessed ok.Timing ok.
7. Chapter points were a mess, made new ones, no problem.
8. Imported subs, Maestro reported importing 1770 of them, starting from sub no. 980, in the place of 001. Otherwise, everything plays OK.

Is there a limit on subtitles quantity?

9. Kept the Video, Audio files, stripped subs with Vobedit and chapter points with ifoedit.
10. Tried making a new DVD, ifoedit stops after a while saying "...data will arrive too late" or something.

11. Made an ISO of the ifo-vobs ifoedit made, mounted it with Daemon tools
12. Opened DVD2DVDR 3.1.4, the procedure started, haven't finished yet.

In case that fails too:
A little help here? Subs is a MUST for me, for my English (Especially listening to Irish accent) is not that good.
Please??

Problem solved.
DVD2DVDR 1.3.4 made it. Made a PERFECT DVD in Ifoedit!

But wanting a decent menu, I went back to Maestro, deleted the old video-audio-sub streams, imported the new M2V and the new AC3s.
What do you know! The subs got imported OK now! And the chapter points I had made, point to the exact beginning of the episodes, as before (so, no timing errors in the first place).
Just out of curiocity, I deleted the M2V file and imported the old video file again.
Subs stayed in place, in their CORRECT place!
CCE works in mysterious ways...
But since I saw the light now, I shall stick to DVD2DVDR from now on, as Chatwalker gradually irons the bugs away :)
I just hope he has ironed out the NTSC-Pulldown bugs.
