Hey folks,

Its been a while since I've made the attempt, but I'm getting the desire to play with pure ntsc dvd's again. The last time I read up on this, these suckers are recorded at 30fps, so there are no flags by which to ivtc, so its really impossible. However, are there any new deint filters out that are more powerful/cleaner than their predessors? Or any way at all to get these dvd's to divx/xvid w/o scan lines?

thx,

rem

One way is of course to encode them in XviD/DivX5.02 as interlaced.

Then again there is a number of new deinterlacers (for AviSynth mostly) like Smoothdeinterlacer, Fielddeinterlace, GreedyHMA and TomsMoComp. All with their respective strengths and weaknesses. Take a look in this thread for an overview: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=39963
